For each one-day course is $95
Full refund is given if the Center cancels a course. A 25% handling charge is imposed on cancellations received up to 24 hours before course. No refunds after that time.

CE hours are available for psychologists, marriage & family therapists, social workers, nurses, and other mental health professionals. Our courses meet requirements in most states. Teachers, writers, clergy, artists, and others interested in our topics are welcome.
The material is presented at an introductory level, requiring no background in mythic studies, narrative theory, or Jungian psychology.
The online interactive courses have same CE approvals as the standard seminars. For psychologists, these hours count as real time in-person credit, as if you are in the room. Technical log-in instructions to Zoom are provided one week before the date.
Center full day courses offer the following credits:

Nursing : 7 hours

Jonathan Young, PhD is a psychologist (PSY10231) with an international online practice. He teaches at the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara. His books and articles focus on personal mythology. Dr.Young assisted mythologist Joseph Campbell at seminars and was founding curator of the Joseph Campbell Archives and Library. He is currently featured in several documentary series on the History Channel.
Dr. Young is the minister of the Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Goleta, a suburb of Santa Barbara. Visitors are welcome Sundays at 10am in-person and on Zoom: LiveOakGoleta.org
Anne Bach, MS, MFT 38891 is a specialist in uses of writing in psychotherapy. She gives presentations on creativity as inner work at major conferences, and lectures widely on psychological dimensions of expressive writing. She also appears in memoir drama performances for various theater groups, including the Marsh Stage in Berkeley. Her clinical background includes poetry therapy with seriously mentally ill patients.

There are no in-person seminars scheduled at this time.
The Center for Story and Symbol is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education hours for psychologists. The Center maintains responsibility for these programs and their contents. CE hours are accepted by the California MCEP program.
Full attendance is required for psychologists - No partial credit. The level is introductory for psychologists.
The California BBS accepts our APA and NBCC approvals.
The Center for Story and Symbol has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6118. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Continuing Education courses are customarily approved by immediate supervisors. It is usually sufficient to attend on a non-credit (auditing) basis and present a receipt for the course.
