The Center for Story & Symbol
offers continuing education seminars and workshops on the psychology of fairy tales, mythic stories, creativity, movies as mythic imagination, and writing in therapy. CE hours are available for psychologists, marriage & family therapists, teachers, social workers, nurses, and other mental health professionals. Our courses meet requirements in most states.

JOHN STEINBECK FESTIVAL
Jonathan Young will speak at the 29th Annual John Steinbeck Festival to be held
August 6-9, 2009. Featured speakers include Christopher Paolini, author of Eragon,
along with storytelling and medieval performances.
Dr. Young's presentation on Saturday, August 8th, Joseph Campbell, John Steinbeck, and Ed Ricketts: Mythic Friendships will focus on the famous members of The Ricketts Lab Group. These friends explored
universal ideas in an informal think-tank that would become central to their work.
